Dual Fuel Program Update
1/17/2025: With the transition to Basin Electric, we do not anticipate heating interruptions during this dangerous cold snap. They are well prepared to handle this situation with supply and energy prices.
With Crow Wing Power’s transition to Basin Electric as our power supplier, members will see fewer control events while continuing to enjoy the cost-saving benefits of the Dual Fuel program.
Program requirements remain the same: an automatic non-electric backup heat source is required, and only eligible electric heating systems may be connected to the Dual Fuel meter. Future adjustments to the program may be necessary as we continue to optimize operations.

Load Management
Load Management programs work by curtailing electric heat, air conditioning, irrigation and water heaters during high demand times to reduce power costs and keep rates low. Curtailing electric loads during high demand times also benefits the environment.
If you participate in an off-peak program, you can determine if load control will impact you today or tomorrow. Control times are approximate and subject to change, based on weather conditions and other variables that may affect the load change.
